Rehabilitation
This overlaps the treatment stage but steady improvement should be seen. An active rehab programme will be tailored to you. Specific stretching and strengthening plan should allow to full recovery. It is here that the initial assessment identifing a cause for the injury will focus on a correction pathway, otherwise the injury may return later.
Regular maintenance is required to prevent reoccurrence and monthly sports massage and examination is recommended. Unfortunately, some injuries due to certain factors are very difficult to regain full recovery, though in those cases, some modification from the previous type of activity often works.
The number of visits required will depend very much on the nature of the injury. Where as achilles problems may need multiple treatments to improve, a minor sprain to an ankle may only need a few.
